Libertarian Party Takes Over the World with Quiz Across America

Have you checked your front door recently? 

If you’ve got a Libertarian candidate running in your district your front door could be the next recipient of the Liberty Movement’s best outreach tool. 

Last week, the Libertarian Party launched their brand new “Quiz Across America” initiative that uses door hangers with the World’s Smallest Political Quiz to introduce millions of people to Liberty!  These hangers feature the Quiz on the front and information about the LP platform on the back.  They’ve even been designed for candidates to attach business cards or labels at the top.

Texas, DC, and all Over

The “Quiz Across America” campaign is the brainchild of LP Executive Director, Wes Benedict.  He modeled the program on his 2006 and 2008 campaigns that lead to record numbers of Libertarian donors, candidates, and votes for Libertarian candidates. 

In 2006 and 2008, the Texas Libertarian Party distributed nearly 200,000 of these door hangers.  Now they want to do 1 million by Election Day 2010.

They’ve already put a good dent in that goal.  At Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally last weekend, Wes (along with the LP Headquarters staff and volunteers) handed out 3,200 of these hangers. 

In three hours, this small group of activists helped many Glenn Beck supporters and Tea Partiers understand the difference between conservative, libertarian, and Republican. 

Why Is the Quiz so Important?

The Libertarian Party chose the World’s Smallest Political Quiz because it is the easiest, quickest, most accurate way to explain complicated political ideas.  And it is the only model that lets us effectively communicate our positions by literally putting libertarians on the map.

The old “Left-Right” model of politics is misleading and fatally flawed.  It doesn't have a place for many millions of people who don't fit neatly into some variant of liberal or conservative. In effect, it disenfranchises the millions of Americans who don't feel that "left," "right," "liberal," "conservative," etc. accurately describe their views.

Thomas Jefferson, for example, wouldn't fit comfortably on that chart under any of those labels. Neither would Jesse Ventura or Huey Long or Pat Buchanan. America's real political spectrum is more complex than this simplistic Crossfire model allows.

Not Just for Politicians

The World’s Smallest Political Quiz isn’t just for politicians and political parties.  Anyone who is passionate about Liberty can use the Quiz to make this world a freer place. 

Ron Paul even publicized the value and effectiveness of the Quiz in the Congressional Record.
